Membership Details

W.S.S.A.S.C. is open to all swimmers five and over by the 31^st of December of that year.  

Club Membership Fee

Membership entitles participation on Friday night swim meets and includes the fee for the affiliation to Brisbane Swimming Association (BSA), Swimming Australia (SAL) and Swimming Queensland (SQ) which enables our members to compete at interclub, BSA, and SQ sanctioned meets.  The club, as an affiliate of Swimming Queensland, has $20 million public liability insurance cover.  The Club Membership fee for the 2010/2011 season is $125.

Please Note:  Membership is available to any child who is 5 years or older by 31^st December 2010.

Rules

1. All swimmers must wear a bathing cap (preferably a club cap).

2. An adult must accompany all children as a club night may finish earlier than expected.

3. Swimmers must not dive into the water at any time unless instructed to do so.

4. Swimmers are not to run on the concourse, play in the toilet areas, or run up and down the grandstands during club nights and carnivals.

5. Children suffering from diarrhoea or infected open wounds are not permitted to swim.

6. There shall be absolute silence at the start of each race.

7. All areas outside the pool area are out of bounds at all times.  Any infringement may cause suspension of membership.

8. Should any person disobey any instruction given by a committee member or club official, they may be expelled by the referee from the pool area and, or prevented from taking part in any swimming activities that evening.  The referee can then report the name of the offender to the committee, who will then decide if further action is necessary.

9. There will be no diving from the shallow end of the pool.  All 25 m races will commence from the deep end.  Relays will start from the deep end with the change over being in the water at the shallow end.

10. There will be no smoking allowed on school premises.

11. Rubbish must be placed in bins provided around the pool concourse.

Club Night – Running Order

·         Friday Nights:    8^th Oct to 3^rd Dec 2010
                        Jan to 25^th Mar 2011.

·         Starts 6pm sharp – Long distance event first.

·         12 ½ m races are held before 25m freestyle events.  (No nomination necessary). This event is open to financial club members in grade two and under who would like to attempt any particular stroke.

·         All race nominations close Thursday 6pm sharp.

·         We recommend nominating while at training prior to Thursday or on the previous Friday club night (nominations are placed in the white box attached to the wall beside the canteen/storeroom door).

·         The preferred electronic method of nomination is by accessing the web page (www. wilstonswim.org.au) and clicking on the ‘nomination’ link.

·         No nomination, no swim.

·         Swim a minimum of 8 club nights over the season.
