Ashgrove A-Grade Meet: Congratulations to the
Wilston Crocs team for a fine performance on Saturday afternoon
(5/3/11). It was wonderful to see such an enthusiastic group of
swimmers cheering each other on. It was especially rewarding to see
the swimmers who swam in their first meet do exceedingly well. We
won the trophy by a substantial margin. At the end we were
entertained by our captains Jacob, Nina, Laura and Lachlan with
their well thought out acceptance speeches. Well done and thanks to
all the parents who helped out.

Club
Nights: We have had two big club nights this year and both
produced some excellent swimming. Those PBs are really starting to
drop as we head towards the Club Champs in April. Emily Stock broke the 9 years girls 50m backstroke record which
had stood since 1992!
Nominating for races: Please nominate your child before
Thursday at 6pm. It is extremely difficult to accommodate those who
have not entered races. We have a large Club and the computer
operators set the program on Thursday night. Remember: NO
NOMINATION, NO SWIM.
Enoggera Carnival: Unfortunately the Enoggera Swim Club is
under going significant changes and we will not be competing against
our Enoggera rivals this weekend as scheduled in the Club Calendar.
Queensland State Championships
The Queensland State Championships at Chandler Pool in December saw
three of our Club swimmers realise their goals after a year of hard
work and dedication. They had to be 11 years old and reach
qualifying times to compete. For Nina, Jacob and Kai they swam a
total of 11 races and swam 11 personal best times. This was an
extraordinary effort. A great deal of their success comes from the
careful planning and expertise of our Head Coach, Anthony McLeod.
Congratulations!

Winter
Swimming
Congratulations to all Wilston Crocs swimmers and their parents for a
great 09\10 summer swimming season. I would like to thank all of you
especially the committee members for all the support I have received in
my first summer as Head Coach. From day one I have been welcomed and
encouraged. This has certainly played a big part in the success the club
and its swimmers have enjoyed this past summer.
As we all know time keeps moving on and it’s now time to turn our focus
to the next six months of winter training and the all important lead up
to the 2010/11 summer season.
Each club night we
award one lucky trainer the honor of being our 'Trainer
of the week'. For your chance to win this award
and have your photo appear on the web page, talk to the
head coach.
