Wilston Crocs State Squad
Wilston Swimming Club is adding a new squad to its training program. The
State Squad will provide opportunities for those swimmers that show a
high level of dedication and commitment to their sport and whose goals
are to compete at a state and national level.
Selection Criteria for the Wilston State Squad
-
The swimmer’s major goal must be to qualify for and compete at the
2010 Queensland State Swimming Championships to be held on Saturday
12th December to Friday 18th December 2010.
-
The swimmer must be at least 11 years of age by Saturday 12th
December 2010.

table below. Age is as at Saturday 12th December 2010.
-
The swimmer must commit to a minimum weekly training attendance.
During terms 2 and 3, all State Squad members are required to attend
a minimum of 3 sessions per week. This will increase in the lead up
to term 4.
-
There will be some compulsory sessions for all State Squad members
during term 4. This will be discussed with squad members during term 3
to try to find the most appropriate sessions.
-
Selection window for the squad will be from Monday 19th
of April to Sunday 31st of October 2010. Other swimmers
may be selected onto a relay team after this date.

of the holidays there will be stroke correction and technique
camps on Tues, Wed, Thurs from 10am-12pm. The cost will be $85
per week or $150 for both weeks. These camps will be a good
chance to get back in the pool ready for Term 3.
Term 3: Bookings are being taken now for learn to swim and
squads. Please contact Judy in the office.
Albany Creek Meet 24th July: This is a short-course (25m) swim
meet for age 8 and above. No qualifying times are required. This

Winter
Swimming
Congratulations to all Wilston Crocs swimmers and their parents for a
great 09\10 summer swimming season. I would like to thank all of you
especially the committee members for all the support I have received in
my first summer as Head Coach. From day one I have been welcomed and
encouraged. This has certainly played a big part in the success the club
and its swimmers have enjoyed this past summer.
As we all know time keeps moving on and it’s now time to turn our focus
to the next six months of winter training and the all important lead up
to the 2010/11 summer season.
