LTS FAQ
Thank you for choosing Wilston Crocodiles to
teach your children how to swim. The first time at a new
learn to swim venue can be confusing for all, so here are a
few tips to make it stress free for you and your child.

Do I have to book
my child in?
When do I pay and how?
How do I find out what time they swim?
What will
my child need for the lesson?
When will my child advance?
What if I have a problem with lesson or coach?
What is Friday night
Club?

Yes, we are a popular learn to swim school so
bookings are essential. You will need to rebook in advance
of each term to avoid losing your spot. Swimmers from the
previous term are given preference over new swimmers.
Payment is required at time of booking
preferably to secure your position or during the first week
of term if that is not possible. We accept cheque, cash,
debit card, credit card and direct deposit. (Please contact
the office on 3356 0874 for direct deposit banking details.)
We also sell club togs, caps and goggles at the office.
Class timetables will be posted at the
office, this will show the time of the lesson and the
teacher’s name. You can also contact the office on 3356 0874
for this information.
Each child must wear a cap, and we
also prefer them to wear goggles as they help to keep their
head under water for longer. Children at this school are
unable to swim during school time without a sun shirt,
however wearing them for learn to swim lessons is optional
as the shallow end of the pool is covered with a shade
cover.
The Learn to Swim process is a continuing
one, and your child is always being assessed and will
advance as they reach the appropriate milestones upon
recommendation from the teacher. They are not automatically
advanced when the term ends. In fact, they may even be
advanced mid-term if they are ready. If you have any
questions regarding this process, please see the Learn to
Swim Coordinator or make an appointment to see the coach
outside of lesson time.
Any concerns you have can be taken to the
Learn to Swim Coordinator. If necessary it will be taken to
the President of Wilston State School Amateur Swim Club that
manages the Learn to Swim program.
Club nights are held every Friday evening
during term 4 and term 1. Children nominate to swim up to
three events a night with an emphasis on personal
improvement and satisfaction. Children swim against other
competitors of similar ability, rather than of the same age.
The season ends in two nights of 'Club Championships' where
the children compete in their age group for medals and
hopefully to break records. Club nights are relaxed,
informal and social. The canteen and BBQ are open each week
so you don't even have to cook dinner!
