It is with great pleasure
that I welcome you all to another exciting and fun season
with the Wilston Crocs. This is my first year as club
president and I can't wait for club night to begin! In
the time that I have been coming to the club there are two
words that come to my mind, “fun and excellence". The club
has that wonderful mix where you can come along and have a
lot of fun but also become a really competitive swimmer if
that's what you want. It's up to you and both aspirations
are just as valued and welcome.
For the past 2 years we
have been lucky enough to be one of the few Brisbane swim
clubs that operates throughout the year thanks to the hard
work of previous committees who raised money for heating.
This not only means being able to swim during winter but
also throughout the traditional 4th and 1st term season the
pool will always be warm.
A major change this year
is the wonderful renovations to our office, canteen and BBQ
areas. They are fantastic and will provide for an even
better experience for all Crocs and their families. I want
to pass on a huge thank you to all those involved in making
this happen including the pool renovation committee, the
Crocs committee and all the wonderful businesses who have
contributed so generously. Once again I would like to thank
the previous committee and families who have raised the
funding for these renovations.
Anyway enough from
me! Please take the time to read this handbook and I look
forward to meeting you all in the 08/09 season!

It’s very
exciting to be in my 4th season with the “Crocs”!
Last year saw us take ourselves to a higher level
with Wilston Crocs achieving National medals in competition
and lots of swimmers representing regions and state teams
for the first time. This is an indication to me that
Wilston Crocs are striving for excellence.
With the new
renovations in place there are more reasons than ever to get
involved and enjoy the hard training we have to offer. No
matter what level you are at, you can find a way to get
strong and fit and achieve some ultimate goals with your
program.
Our learn to
swim program has never been stronger and I am looking to
enforcing our commitment to a strong level of learning. We
have a great team of qualified coaches who are also prepared
to do what it takes to make you get the most out of your
training. I also look forward to seeing every swimmer
progress and hope that you can really enjoy your time at our
great pool environment.
